Micromax Canvas 1 smartphone with Android 7.0 Nougat launched at Rs 6,999


After making a comeback with Canvas 2, Microsoft is back another phone, Micromax Canvas 1. This is the first smartphone of the company to come with a 100-day replacement promise on any hardware issue (which is a part of the one year product warranty).

The Micromax Canvas 1 comes with a price tag of Rs 6,999 and is available across offline stores in the country. Going by the price, the smartphone will face a tough competition from the recently launched Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Infocus Turbo, which are available at the same price tag.

Specifications

The Micromax Canvas 1 features a 5-inch 2.5D curved glass HD display with 720x1280 pixel resolution. The device runs Android Nougat 7.0 Nougat operating system and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor.

The smartphone comes with dual SIM support and offers 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. Users can further expand the storage up to 32GB by adding a microSD card. The smartphone includes an 8MP primary camera with dual LED flash and a 5MP front shooter for selfies. The camera offers various shooting modes such as beauty mode, time lapse, watermark and HDR.

In terms of connectivity, the Micromax Canvas 1 offers 4G, VoLTE, 3F, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB OTG and is backed by a 2,500 mAh battery which claims to offer seven hours of battery backup. The smartphone comes pre-installed with an app called Freezer, which disables memory-intensive apps to restrict background processes and save memory resources.

Recently, Micromax's sub-brand Yu launched its Yu Yureka Black smartphone at Rs 8,999. Running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the dual-SIM supporting Yu Yureka Black features 5-inch screen with (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display and is powered by octa-core 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor clubbed with 4GB DDR3 RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage. There is support for a microSD card up to 128GB. The smartphone also comes with a fingerprint scanner at the front for improved security purposes.
